Alex’s fascination with composition began in high school, where they were a member of the Senior Wind Ensemble. Their fascination with music made them an explorer–and discovering music production added fuel to this fire.

Today, Alex has created music & soundtracks for short films, podcasts, theatrical works, and their fellow musicians. Notable collaborators include Penelope Scott, Simon Fraser University, Broadway Records, and The Future Perfect Project. They were also a member of the 2021 and 2022 iterations of the Vancouver International Film Festival Talent Accelerator Program, for musicians looking to work in film & visual media. These skills from VIFF recently came in handy, as they scored their first short films in 2022: “Fly” and “Twenty Teen” (available below soon!).

Most recently, they composed the theme music for a series of episodes in Below the Radar, a podcast run by SFU’s Vancity Office of Community Engagement. On top of this, they’re a member of the band Webpage 505, wrapped up a mentorship with Vancouver’s Producers Lounge earlier this year, and currently have a song they wrote and produced playing at The Transgender Expressions Haven.
