Before majoring in Communication, Alex studied Journalism–and they never did forget their roots.
In their freelance work, Alex has penned articles about their experiences with neurodivergence, queerness, and as an artist, as well as writing about media and pop culture. They’ve been freelancing since 2018, taking on everything from pronouns in the workplace to leftist undertones in Disney films, interviewing everyone from particle physicists to drag performers.
Alongside this, Alex has held a couple of long-term positions with publications. In 2021, they were a Staff Writer at SFU’s student newspaper The Peak, and in 2022, they were a columnist for the digital music webzine Tonitruale.
